Proudly South African has also partnered with the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts & Culture and celebrated the launch of Magnificent Fridays which kicked off with an open bus parade in the streets of Soweto, Gauteng, that saw personalities and celebrities taking part in the celebrations. Some of the soccer legends spotted on the bus included Zane Moosa, Jerry Skosana and Edward Motale. Popular soccer supporter, Freddy Saddam Maake also attended the Magnificent Fridays launch, along with crowds of supporters. To add to the excitement the bus had been branded with colourful soccer paraphernalia.

Many soccer fans agreed that sport is an important catalyst in nation building. Both players and fans alike are hoping that the Afcon tournament will unify the people of the African continent.
